Vulvar Cancer represents 3-5% of female genital cancers.

Risk Factors:

  • Advanced age
  • High blood pressure
  • Immunosuppression
  • Infection with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
  • Low socioeconomic class
  • Diabetes
  • Prior cervical cancer

Signs and Symptoms:

  • Chronic itching
  • Nodule/lump or ulcerative lesion
  • Burning or pain
  • Bleeding or discharge

Treatment:

  • Wide Local Excision
  • Radical Vulvectomy with lymph node biopsy
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Chemotherapy

Recommended Follow Up:

Physical Exam:

  • Every 3-4 months for 2 years
  • Every 6 months for years 3-5
  • Yearly thereafter
