
Vulvar Cancer represents 3-5% of female genital cancers.
Risk Factors:
- Advanced age
- High blood pressure
- Immunosuppression
- Infection with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
- Low socioeconomic class
- Diabetes
- Prior cervical cancer
Signs and Symptoms:
- Chronic itching
- Nodule/lump or ulcerative lesion
- Burning or pain
- Bleeding or discharge
Treatment:
- Wide Local Excision
- Radical Vulvectomy with lymph node biopsy
- Radiation Therapy
- Chemotherapy
Recommended Follow Up:
Physical Exam:
- Every 3-4 months for 2 years
- Every 6 months for years 3-5
- Yearly thereafter
